Yuna Final Fantasy Cosplay Costumes

This is the start of a series on finding the best final fantasy cosplay costumes that are out there. Part 1 focuses on the lovely Yuna.

Yuna’s Final Fantasy cosplay costumes are based on the ancient Japanese kimono. Yuna’s beautiful kimono’s and accessories are specific to the song and dance performed. In “FF X”, Yuna’s Final Fantasy cosplay costume is reminiscent of Okinawan garb. Her kimono is quite different from the traditional ones. The sleeves of the kimono indicate the age and marital status of a woman. A young unmarried woman would wear a furisode, a colorful kimono with flowing sleeves that hang almost to the ankles. In contrast, a married woman wears a kimono with short sleeves.

Yuna has separated long sleeves dyed from light ivory to pink and wears over the top a yellow obi embroidered of hibiscus flowers. It looks like one of those “fake” obi sold in Japan: it is a pre-tied belt that gives the impression of a complicated tied obi but the bow is separated and has a wire hanger to insert into the wrapped around belt. For the bottom, she wears a long navy blue skirt with a slit on the left side, also embroidered of the same kind of pattern but in a different color. Under the white wrap over top, she wears a black bikini with five thin straps: two are hidden by the white fabric around her neck and one is tied straightly from the neck down to the middle of the two others.

Besides the basics of Yuna’s Final Fantasy cosplay costumes, she also wears many accessories with it: two silver rings, one pearl and one silver bracelet, a silver necklace, a wood earring made of pearls, a pair of small-heeled black boots and a rod.
